NAB Presents: The Classics - Citizen Kane
In 2024, Breaking Brad was to rest, but a new show arose out of the ashes like a phoenix. That new show is Not A Bomb Presents: The Classics, a series where Jose and Sammy join Troy and Brad again to discuss some of the greatest films ever. On the first edition, we come out of the gate discussing one of the greatest films of all time - Citizen Kane. This quasi-biographical film is a monumental task to discuss, but the guys all bring a unique perspective to the conversation. Trust me, no one was broken after talking about such a powerful piece of cinema.
We hope you join us on this upcoming journey as Not A Bomb takes on The Classics!
Be sure to subscribe to the Gentlemen’s Guide to Midnite Cinema to hear more of Sammy. Also, check out Jose’s podcast - Watch/Skip+ • A podcast on Anchor. Both are highly recommended.

Episode 190 - The Bonfires of the Vanities
Welcome back to Not A Bomb podcast! This is the show where we re-examine some of the biggest bombs in cinematic history and see if they deserve a second chance. In this episode, discuss the 1990 comedy (??) - The Bonfire of the Vanities. Coming from the legendary director Brian De Palma, The Bonfire of the Vanities attempts to adapt the best-selling novel of the same name. However, problem after problem caused this film to fail at the box office and get hammered by the critics. The problems were so epic, a film critic wrote a bestselling book about all the behind-the-scenes drama, “The Devil’s Candy: The Anatomy of a Hollywood Fiasco.” As a bonus feature, we sneak in a quick review of a 2015 documentary on the director himself, De Palma.
We are excited to welcome John from And Now Something A Little Bit Different YouTube Channel to help break down this utter failure.
The Bonfires of the Vanities is directed by Brian De Palma and stars Tom Hanks, Bruce Willis, Melanie Griffith, Morgan Freeman, Kim Cattrall, Saul Rubinek, and F. Murray Abraham.

Episode 189 - Gods of Egypt
Welcome back to Not A Bomb podcast! This is the show where we re-examine some of the biggest bombs in cinematic history and see if they deserve a second chance. In this episode, we discuss a film with nine-foot Egyptian Gods played by generic white people who bleed gold and turn into Voltron-like robots. Yes, you read that sentence correctly. Our little podcast finally tackles 2016's fantasy action film - Gods of Egypt. This one…well…is a head-scratcher. For one, it's directed by Alex Proyas, an individual responsible for classics such as The Crow and Dark City. But he has Knowing in his filmography. Secondly, the film is penned by the duo known for Dracula Untold, The Last Witch Hunter, and Morbius. Not really a winning combination. Maybe against all odds, this one will be something watchable…right, right? Download and find out!
Gods of Egypt is directed by Alex Proyas and stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Gerard Butler, Brenton Thwaites, Chadwick Boseman, Elodie Yung, Courtney Eaton, Rufus Sewell, and Geoffrey Rush.
