Episode 105 - Spawn
“Oops. A wet one. I hope I don’t stain my underwear. Look at that. Skid Marks.” - The Clown
Folks that’s the level of sophistication on display in this week’s film. You’ve been warned!
Welcome to a brand new episode of Not A Bomb, the podcast where we reexamine some of Hollywood’s biggest financial bombs and critically panned films. The podcast has hit rock bottom, again, this time with the 1997 superhero film - Spawn. Based on the Image comic and created by the legendary artist Tood McFarlane, Spawn is the story of Al Simmons making a deal with a demon to get revenge for those who have turned him into an overcooked hamburger. Have you seen The Crow? Maybe read a Batman comic? Well, you’ve seen Spawn the movie. Friend of the show and host of The Gentlemen’s Guide to Midnite Cinema, Sammy, joins to discuss the origins of the character, Image Comics and the correct pronunciation of McFarlane.

Episode 104 - Howard the Duck
Call him Howard THE DUCK (ooh) ain’t no way to conceal it.
With feathers touch I love him apart.
That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, on this very special two-year anniversary episode of Not A Bomb, the gang assembles to discuss one of the weirdest superhero films ever put up on the big screen - Howard the Duck. Based on the Marvel Comic character of the same name and executive produced by George Lucas, Howard the Duck was both critically panned and a financial flop. There is no way that Brad and Troy could tackle such a movie by themselves, so they brought in comic book expert, John Nance, to the flock.

Episode 103 - Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow
Welcome back you regularly scheduled podcast. After celebrating Troy’s birthday…yet again, the guys are back reexamining some of the biggest financial bombs in cinematic history. This week, the gangs goes all diselpunk, and discusses 2004’s science fiction action-adventure film - Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Fan-favorite and host of The Gentlemen’s Guide to Midnite Cinema, Sammy, is back to assist in talks about Call Signs, Goopy Paltrow and lead characters with zero chemistry. Also, Troy partied too hard and has no voice but uses his soundboard to enhance his arguments.
Additionally, the gang drives into Top Gun: Maverick as a little bonus. Obviously, this is the biggest movie of the year so it doesn’t deserve to be on a podcast called Not A Bomb. *** Warning, there are slight spoilers in the discussion. ***
