Episode 7 - The Hunted (2003)
Welcome back to another exciting episode of Not A Bomb. On this week’s show, the guys tackle the 2003, William Friedkin directed, action thriller - The Hunted. Both a critical and commercial flop, The Hunted finds Tommy Lee Jones staring at muddy footprints while trying to track down a former United States Delta Force operator played by Benicio del Toro.
Consisting of close quarter combat, record breaking knife construction and one of the worst girlfriend sub-plots in cinema history, The Hunted is a lean, mean action film that relies on realism and subtle plot choices.
With two Academy Award winning actors and the Academy Award winning director of the French Connection, this film surely has to be a hidden gem, right? Listen to Episode 7 of Not A Bomb to find out.
The Hunted is directed by William Friedkin and stars; Tommy Lee Jones, Benicio Del Toro, and Connie Nielsen.

Episode 6 - Dredd (2012)
On this week’s episode of Not A Bomb, Troy and Brad are joined by Bret Saxton to discuss the 2012 action film - Dredd. Based on the 2000 AD comic strip Judge Dredd, Dredd was praised for its bombastic violence and impressive special effects. Sadly, audiences skipped out and the film under performed at the box office. Since the initial release in September 2012, Dredd has found a cult following in the home video market and is considered a classic in the action genre. The boys discuss everything from the satire nature of the character to Karl Urban’s strong jawline. Ultimately, the three come together to decide if Dredd is truly a bomb.
Dredd is directed by Pete Travis and is written by Alex Garland. The film stars Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby, Wood Harris, and Lena Headey.

Episode 5 - Last Action Hero
On this weeks’s episode of Not A Bomb, the boys examine the 1993 fantasy/action/comedy film, Last Action Hero. What do you get when you combine the action directing know-how of John McTiernan, the screenwriting ability of Shane Black, and the action superstar, Arnold Schwarzenegger? Seemingly, a action film with barely any action.
The boys grab their magic tickets and dive deep into every facet of development leading to the release of this film and converse whether or not a character named Leo La Fart is funny. As both a critical and commercial disappointment, Last Action Hero played chicken with the juggernaut, Jurassic Park , and lost badly but was this the only reason why the film did not work? Listen to find out.
Last Action Hero is directed by John McTiernan, and stars; Arnold Schwarzenegger, F. Murray Abraham, Art Carney, Frank McRae, Charles Dance, Tom Noonan, Robert Proskey, Anthony Quinn, Mercedes Ruehl, Austion O’Brien, and Ian McKellen.
