Episode 269 - Super

Welcome back to Not A Bomb! This is the podcast where we explore some of cinema’s biggest box office failures and decide whether they deserve a second chance. We are celebrating five years of discussing cinematic flops!

On this week’s episode of Not A Bomb, Troy and Brad are happy to welcome back to the show Sammy from the GGTMC to talk about Super, a dark and twisted comic book film, written and directed by James Gunn. Violent, dirty, and heartwarming(?), Super shows the dark side of vigilantism and might be difficult to stomach if you are not prepared. Get ready for needle drops, wrenches to the head, and waiting behind dumpsters.

Super is directed by James Gunn and stars Rainn Wilson, Elliott Page, Liv Taylor, Kevin Bacon, Nathan Fillon, Gregg Henry, Michael Rooker, Andre Royo, Sean Gunn, Stephen Blackehart, and Linda Cardellini.

To celebrate the last 25 years of film, the Not A Bomb podcast is compiling a Top 25 list from the Not A Bomb community. If you would like to submit your own list, please use this form to enter your 25 choices. For a film to be eligible, it must have been released between January 1, 2020, and December 31, 2025. Episode 83 - The Suicide Squad (2021)

What’s up bombers, and welcome back to another great episode of Not A Bomb Podcast. This is the podcast where we reexamine films that bombed at the box office or were panned by critics. This month, the boys are taking a look at some of the biggest bombs of 2021. On this episode, Troy and Brad are joined by our resident comic book expert, John Nance, to tackle James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. This latest entry in the franchise comes five years after 2016’s absolute abysmal offering, Suicide Squad.

Where 2016’s film failed, The Suicide Squad really shines. The movie has an amazing cast, witty writing, funny jokes, violent action, and a land shark. The gang ponders why this film failed to make an impact at the box-office while all other superhero films in 2021 succeeded. Ultimately, Not A Bomb decides if 2021’s The Suicide Squad is truly a bomb!

The Suicide Squad is directed by James Gunn and stars Maggot Robbie, Idris Elba, Joel Kinnaman, Sylvester Stallone, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, and Peter Capaldi.

If you want to leave feedback or suggest a movie bomb, please drop us a line at NotABombPod@gmail.com. Also, if you like what you hear, leave a review on Apple Podcast.
